the way minesweeper should be

Franklins Minesweeper is very neat looking, both in the "cool" and the "tidy" senses of the word. I like the default colours, although you do have the option in preferences to change them (how often is water purple? who cares). The numbers are a little bigger than Im used to, but that just makes it easier on the eyes. Design-wise, I think its a winner.

As for the game itself, its classic Minesweeper with some new - and welcome - features. I like that the first click in a game always results in a reveal - I cant tell you how many times I used to click and auto-lose in other versions. Flagging is easy using a Magic Mouse, and I was happy to see theres also a ? option. The Intermediate setting seems tougher than I remember other versions being, but that might be just because Im terrible at the game. I do enjoy the challenge though. The cursor path tracking feature seems like a bit of a novelty, but its a fun sort of novelty.

Overall Id give it a 5/5, and recommend it to anyone else who loves Minesweeper. I know Ill be wasting countless hours on it, thinking "one more game, one more game..."
